About Me
"Hi, I’m Jordyn! My passion for baking started early. At seven years old, while being homeschooled, my mom taught me math through baking and cooking. I’ve always been a hands-on learner, and the kitchen became my favorite classroom. By 14, I baked my first wedding cake—a milestone that deepened my love for all things culinary.
Around that time, I discovered I was allergic and sensitive to gluten and dairy, which reshaped the way I approached food. Living off gluten-free flours and dairy-free milks, I found some great recipes, but certain dishes just weren’t the same. As an adult, my curiosity led me to research grains and flours, uncovering why some are easier to digest and asking the question many wonder:
"Why can people enjoy bread and pasta in other countries but feel unwell eating them in the U.S.?"
Through this journey, I fell in love with sourdough baking—a craft that blends art, science, and nourishment. Here, I’ll share my favorite sourdough recipes alongside a variety of other dishes I’ve come to love. Together, we’ll explore the world of baking, the unique qualities of different flours, and the joy of creating something delicious from scratch."
